It is a catchment of 190 square kilometres where the <em>torrent<\/em> <strong>Carpina<\/strong> and its <em>tributaries<\/em> determine a succession of hills which disrupt themselves in winding valleys near the watershed: a wild and suggestive territory, largely covered by dense forests of Turkey oaks and downy oaks.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-49\" title=\"panorama tetti montone\" src=\"https:\/\/montonein.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/panorama_tetti.jpg\" alt=\"panorama tetti montone in\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Territory<\/strong><br \/>\nBetween the 400 m altitude of the valley and the 900 m of the watershed, the combined action of a rather homogeneous marmoreal-arenaceous hill substrate and of a thermo-rainfall temperate sub-Mediterranean condition determine a <em>vegetable landscape<\/em> which is typical of the areas of transition between the Mediterranean environment (<em>evergreen<\/em>) and the Apennine hills (<em>deciduous<\/em>): a mosaic of plant associations in dynamic relationship among them, linked to the phytosociological series of downy oak.<br \/>\nAbout the <em>Wildlife Population<\/em>, is really noticeable the presence of some small family groups of <strong>Apennine Wolf<\/strong> and of the <strong>Hawk<\/strong>, leader of a long and articulated food chain that includes high natural indicators such as the <strong>crayfish<\/strong>, the <strong>nuthatches<\/strong> and the <strong>skunk<\/strong> (reports about huge reliefs species such as the <strong>goshawks<\/strong> and the <strong>owl<\/strong> have still to be verified).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Valley of Carpina is an area of great naturalistic interest nestled between the Alta &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-2779","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
